We are saddened to share the news that Peter F. Dembowski, Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of French Literature, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Nicolas Portugal, an Assistant Instructional Professor in French, has earned his doctoral degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Congratulations, Dr. Portugal!
On Friday, October 27, he successfully defended his dissertation, entitled "A FRENCH 9/11? FRENCH LITERATURE IN THE WAKE OF TERRORISM." His advising committee included Drs. Brett A. Kaplan, Laurence Mall, Jean-Philippe R. Mathy, and François Proulx.
