Vianny holds a BA in Law from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada (Colombia), and a MA in Literature and Culture in Latin American from Northeastern Illinois University.

Her research engages a discursive analysis of the literature written and published in Spanish language by mostly Mexican immigrants in the area of Chicagoland. In her Master’s thesis, she focused on such literature as a space of resistance and identity exploration. Currently, she is working as an editor and co-writer on an article that seeks to assess the immigration experience as an experience of transness from the point of departure that both acts, crossing the border and crossing gender are two radical key figures of transformation.
