I graduated from the University of Turin (Italy) and I obtained my PhD in Romance
Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago. Now I am Associate Professor of Contemporary Italian Literature at the University of Turin. My first monography, L’invenzione del vero. Romanzi ibridi e discorso etico nell’Italia contemporanea (2014) was awarded the International Tarqiuinia-Cardarelli prize. Among my recent publications I recall here the monographies Che cos’è la non fiction (2023), L’ombra di Don Alessandro. Manzoni nel Novecento (2020), the essay Nel «guazzabuglio del cuore umano»: Manzoni, Pomilio e il progetto di un nuovo umanesimo cristiano (2023) and the book-chapter Presenze e assenze di fototesti nella non-fiction contemporanea (pochissime le presenze) (2024).
My scholarship focuses on the Italian and European novel, and on literary theory with a special emphasis on nonfiction writing.
