Beyond the RLL Classroom with Giovanni Minicucci, PhD Student

How do graduate students use their knowledge about Romance Languages outside of the classroom?

Giovanni Minicucci, a graduate student in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Studies, is the Founder and Director of ITALengUSA. The program pairs language-learning students from across Italy and the US.

Students meet virtually on Sundays for conversation and cultural exchange, with opportunities to practice both English and Italian. The program has been promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in New York.

Since its founding in 2020, ITALengUSA has served 15+ colleges and high schools around the world. University of Chicago students will have the chance to participate in 2024! Many students acquire not only a conversation partner, but also a lifelong friend!
