An Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies and the College, Khalid Lyamlahypublished his second novel, Evocation d'un mémorial à Venise, in 2023. Since its publication, the novel has earned numerous recognitions.

This October 14-16, the University of Chicago will host the 2024 Pierre Bayard Conference. This year's theme is "Creative Reading: Rethinking our Relationship to Literature and Art through Pierre Bayard."
