I am primarily interested in theoretical descriptions of fictional and artistic forms. My research develops ideas about the relationship between mimesis and concept, art and meaning, and their connection to power and ideology.

I obtained both my BA in Humanities and my MA in Modern Literature at the University of Siena, Italy, under the supervision of Guido Mazzoni.

In my BA dissertation, titled Costruzione della figura autoriale [Construction of the Figure of the Author], I analyzed the works of Italian novelist Antonio Moresco and his peculiar posture of “marginalized” writer, describing the dialectics of fictionality and sincerity that it evokes, and questioning literature’s ability to tell the truth about reality.

In my MA thesis, titled A Theory of the Videogame, I applied concepts from the theory of literature to the description of interactive digital artifacts, framing games as procedural forms of representation.

As a student, I participated in exchange programs with the University of Paris 7 – Diderot and the University of Oklahoma. I also worked as an intern in fields such as journalism (Berlin, 2017) and contemporary art curation (Riga, 2023), and served as a Teaching Assistant of Italian Language at the University of Oklahoma (Norman, 2020).
