PhD, University of the Basque Country

Born and raised in the Basque Country, northern Spain, I moved to the United States in 2011 to embark on my adventure as a language instructor. Since then, I have enjoyed every moment, sharing the joy of learning languages with all my students.

I hold a Ph.D. in Language Pedagogy and an MA in Multilingualism and Education from the University of the Basque Country, where I also completed a Postgraduate Degree in Foreign Language Teaching and earned a BA in Translation Studies.

Professionally, I have worked as a Spanish and Basque language instructor at several higher education institutions in Europe and the United States. Currently, I serve as an Associate Instructional Professor in Spanish at the University of Chicago.

My primary research interests focus on promoting sociocultural practices in language instruction, expanding the teaching of minority languages, and integrating translation studies into language programs. However, despite my busy professional life, I still find time for my true passion: traveling, which I believe is one of the best ways to learn.
