UChicago's interdisciplinary graduate workshops are an integral part of graduate life for our PhD students.

The Department sponsors two workshops:

  • Interdisciplinary Approaches to Modern France and the Francophone World: All sessions meet in the John Hope Franklin Room in the Social Sciences Building (SS #224) at 4pm, unless otherwise indicated on the schedule.  A wine and cheese reception follow each discussion. To obtain electronic copies of the papers being discussed, or to get on the Modern France Workshop list-serve, please contact Bastien Craipain. We look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
  • Early Modern and Mediterranean Worlds (1200-1800)All sessions take place in Rosenwald 405 unless otherwise indicated on the schedule.  People having any questions or concerns about the Workshop or needing any assistance in attending this event should contact the Graduate Student Coordinators, Sarah Atkinson and Anatole Upart.
