Larissa Brewer-García, Associate Professor of Latin American Studies, was awarded the Franklin Pease G. Y. Memorial Prize from the Colonial Latin American Review (CLAR). The award recognizes the best article published in the journal in 2021 and 2022. Brewer-García's winning article was entitled "The composite pardo of seventeenth-century Lima: blackness, whiteness, and Creole self-fashioning in the earliest portraits of Martín de Porres."
