Two Romance Languages and Literatures graduate students, Isaías Fanlo and Bastien Craipain, have been awarded Stuart Tave Teaching Fellowships. They will teach their self-designed undergraduate course during the 2019-20 academic year.
Larry Norman, Frank L. Sulzberger Professor, has been honored by President Zimmer and the Board of Trustees with the title of Distinguished Service Professor, in recognition of his outstanding research and his support of the University of Chicago.
Two graduate students in Romance Languages and Literatures had their photos selected to be part of the Center for Latin American Studies' annual Vistas exhibit. Paulina León's El Palenque de mezcal, was snapped in Oaxaca (Mexico), while Luis Madrigal's Giant Steps was taken in Bolivia.
Maria Anna Mariani and Victoria Saramago have both been renewed for a second term at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are so glad and fortunate to have each of them as our colleagues.

José Estrada, a PhD candidate in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, spent last summer as an intern at the University of Chicago Library.
