Isabela Fraga, an RLL PhD candidate in the Hispanic & Luso-Brazilian Studies program, has been awarded a two-year Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities at Stanford University starting in 2022-23. She has also accepted a position as tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of Romance Studies at Tufts University starting in 2024. Congratulations, Isabela!
Miguel Martínez has been awarded a 2022-23 Newberry Library Long-Term Fellowship for his project on colonial Manila and the global renaissance. Miguel Martínez was awarded the María Zambrano Fellowship by the Spanish government. This fellowship will allow him to spend the 2022-23 academic year at the University of Alcalá de Henares, where he will join an international research team working on the subject of subaltern and popular literacies in the early modern and modern periods.
