I am a PhD Student in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Studies at the University of Chicago. I hold an MA in Literary Theory and History, and a BA in Languages and Literatures, from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil). I am interested in exploring the intersections between literature, environment, and culture on a global scale, investigating how different cultural and geographical contexts influence literary representations of nature and the ways in which these narratives contribute to our understanding of environmental issues. My focus lies on the literary aesthetics propelled by the effects of climate change on littoral societies, seas, and ocean basins, through a comparative approach to Portuguese and French-speaking African writers from different Indian Ocean countries.
