I was born and raised in Bizkaia, a region of the Basque Country, Spain. I hold a BA in Modern Languages from Universidad de Deusto as well as an MA degree in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC). I also hold an MA in education from the Universidad de La Rioja. My research has mostly focused on Second Language Acquisition (SLA), focusing on SLA in students with ADHD and Dyslexia for my State of the Art paper at UIC, and English as a second language for Spanish students for my thesis at the Universidad de La Rioja. I am currently interested in studying how speakers with individual differences process second languages at a neurological level.

During my time as an instructor, I’ve had the opportunity to teach not only a diverse range of subjects but also a variety of students, both in Spain and in the US. My main priority when teaching is to create a comfortable and safe space for students to feel more comfortable and thus more engaged and enthusiastic about learning new languages. I also work hard to develop my ability to accommodate my teaching style for all kinds of students.
