Undergraduate Programs
We offer undergraduate programs in French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Spanish, Catalan, Basque, and Portuguese literature.
These major and minor programs give students knowledge of the literature in their area of concentration and develop the ability to read, write, and speak one or more of the Romance languages. Students whose interests lay at the intersection multiple Romance-language literatures may pursue one of our programs in more than one literature.
Combined Undergraduate Program
Students whose interests lie at the intersection of multiple Romance language and literatures may pursue one of our programs in more than one literature.
Combined Graduate Program
Current RLL students whose interests lie at the intersection of more than one Romance language and literature may pursue a course of study in two RLL graduate programs (e.g., Italian and HLBS). Students must submit a petition (no more than one page) to the DGS by the end of spring quarter of their first year. The DGS, in consultation with the relevant Section Heads, will determine the intellectual soundness and feasibility of the student’s proposal, and will develop a plan for the fulfillment of requirements in both programs as listed below.
