Biography
Sydney studied double bass performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and there earned her Bachelor of Music. She earned her Master of Arts in French literature at Middlebury College, during which time she also attended Sorbonne Université, studying musicology. Her master’s thesis examined André Malraux’s writings on art and transposed his concept of le musée imaginaire from the world of visual arts to that of music.
