Interdisciplinary Workshop on Modern France and the Francophone World

All sessions meet in the John Hope Franklin Room in the Social Sciences Building (SS #224) at 4pm.  A wine and cheese reception follow each discussion. May 18: Clovis Gladstone (PhD Candidate, Romance Languages and Literatures, University of Chicago): "Le déterminisme autobiographique chez Rousseau: une analyse matérialiste malgré lui"

June 1: Vincent Debaene: (Assistant Professor, Romance Languages and Literatures, Columbia University): "The Ethnographer's Two Books: Writing Anthropology in 20th-century France"
 

Western Mediterranean Culture Workshop

Lucy Freeman Sandler, Professor of Art History Emerita, New York University, will offer the keynote address for the conference "On the Edge: Medieval Margins and the Margins of Academic Life"  The conference and Prof. Sandler´s keynote address is co-sponsored by the Medieval Workshop and the Exhibition is supported by the Student Government.
