Second Annual RLL Share Fair is a Success!

Last Wednesday, February 21, we celebrated our second annual pedagogical RLL Share Fair, an opportunity for everyone teaching in our language programs to gather, share tips and strategies, and discuss classroom practices.

James Weber (Assistant Instructional Professor in Spanish) presented on Rethinking Listening Comprehension Inside the Classroom and Out. James proposed ways to rethink how we work on listening skills in our courses. His presentation sparked a lively discussion and exchange of ideas, as well as offered concrete examples of possible implementation in our programs.

Nicolas Portugal (Assistant Instructional Professor in French) and Georgy Khabarovskiy (Assistant Instructional Professor in French) shared their experience integrating Virtual Reality activities in the French classroom. Their presentation From the Classroom to la Seine: A (Short) Virtual Reality Riverboat Exploration of Parisian Landmarks explored the advantages and challenges of VR in the language classroom. Their presentation was followed by a demonstration of VR where everyone had the opportunity to use a VR set and experience it as our students do.
