An Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies and the College, Khalid Lyamlahy published his second novel, Evocation d'un mémorial à Venise, in 2023. Since its publication, the novel has earned numerous recognitions, including a nomination for the International Organization of the Francophonie's prestigious Prix des cinq continents (Prize of the Five Continents):
- Finalist, 2023 Prix Alain Spiess (For a remarkable second novel)
- Finalist, 2024 Prix des cinq continents de la Francophonie (For exceptional narrative fiction, written in French)
- Finalist, 2024 Prix Jésus Paradis (For a remarkable second novel)

March 2024 Update: The 22nd annual Prix des 5 continents de la Francophonie awards ceremony was held on March 26 at the Musée de l'Homme à Paris. - Professor Lyamlahy's novel was shortlisted for the 2024 Prix Ethiophile, an annual literary prize that rewards literary texts in French from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Indian Ocean.
